Artistic Review : Photographer's Website

Artistic Review on Mr.Farley's Website

Bryan Farley is a photographer who captures a lot of different aspects of life throughout his photos. He has been teaching and educating about photography for over several years. He is a very talented photographer who tried to make everyone feel visible. He is a person who does not like anyone to be left out or feel unwelcome so he makes that person feel incorporated or included. This gives that person their own statement and makes them not feel like the "Odd One out". Bryan Farley loves to loves working with families and at different concerts or events.
One event i really liked was the, " Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California 2012 Candlelight Gala." I really enjoyed this pictures and  it gave everyone their own statement and made them feel welcomed. Everyone within the pictures looked really happy and the scenery was really beautiful. In this event it made everyone feel equal and everyone's voice was important. In this event, it serves more then 140,000 people with epilepsy.
Another thing i liked about Bryan Farley's blog is the wedding photos. The wedding photos simply tell a story in which you can read through the photos and the expressions. The scenery and locations are beautiful. All the photos are beautiful and taking nicely. Within the pictures Farley captured memorable and great moments that i know the couple will love to look back at.

My Photo

Original Photo

From the original photo Mr.Farley took of me i edited it. With the first photo, to the left, I cropped the photo to eliminate excess things in the background to make it less distracting. I then enhanced the light in the photo making it more clear and gives the background a kind of a blur effect. On the second photo, to the right, i kept the cropping form the first photo but this time i made it black and white. I choose to do it that way for a different effect and i liked how it looked. It gave it an older look.

Family Photo

Before:

After :

Before i edited our Family Photo it was very blurry and  not centered. I took the picture and cropped it to a normal size which also cropped out all the unnecessary things i the background. By doing this your eye catches the people in the picture rather than the door , the trash can, or even the lights above. I then made this photo black and white. It gives a different effect and makes it less blurry. Making it black and white also made this picture appear photos did back in the day which was in black and white and nobody was ready for the photo. Taylor was looking somewhere else, Maria was somewhat ready, and i was just fake smiling in hopes to finish the picture faster.

Cropping for Better Composition - Advanced Photo

For Better Composition i cropped and used the Rule of Thirds to add a better impact to the photo. I first cropped the photo to eliminate the excess stuff in the background. After doing this it caused less distraction and made the photo even clearer. I then focused on the two balloons to the left which your eye usually catches first. By doing this i used The Rule of Thirds. Instead of placing the two balloons centered, they are all the way to the left giving it a different affect. I also brightened the picture to make it more clear and give more detail. This photo looks like it was taken in the afternoon around 1-2pm.

Composition: Rule of Thirds

Rule Of Thirds

My Group and I chose to use the Rule of Thirds. This following rule is a a little different then taking normal pictures. When using this rule you made the photo or to the left or right rather then centered. My group and I had fun wit this rule and played around with it also including our teacher, Mr.Farley. There are many other objects we could use to apply this rule to like the statue, the starbucks cup, a trash can (even though would be a little odd),  and a plant etc. There are many object  we could have used instead.

Yosemite Photography

Pop Laval, a Central Valley photographer, started photographing Yosemite nearly 100 years ago. How did he make money? Did Yosemite pay him?
1. Pop Laval was paid to photograph Yosemite. As he did this he also photographed many other places.

Who makes the most interesting photographs of Yosemite now? How are the images created? Are photographers paid to photograph Yosemite? If you were photographing Yosemite, what would you do? What would you want to do?

2. Gary Hart is a very interesting photographer now. He is a very experienced photographer and he also does workshops and photo tours. Many photographers are not paid though unless you are doing professional photos. Gary hart is very passionate about what he does unlike the people who just come and take a couple of pictures. Photographers like Ken & Brady also get paid for their photos. They are professional photographers who take pictures for people weddings. They had deep affection for Yosemite and they love taking pictures for weddings. They also provide tour guides to their clients.

Camera Review

This year we will be receiving new cameras called "Cannon Rebel T3i". There are many Pros about this camera and very little to no cons. It is an extraordinarily, well-rounded camera which offers excellent picture and video with very little noise.  It s a very easy to use camera and automatic settings. There are not many cons about this camera except it has basic software and a lack of manual white balance.
